Week 2

What can I say about week 2? It has been a challenge for me and the kids. Home school is a lot different than both the kids and I thought it would be in reality. I do think it will be a blessing and something that I will always cherish having done for my kiddos, but the transition and adjustments are a lot harder than I thought.

I have spent a huge amount of time making a perfect schedule in order to help all of my kids to the best of my ability. I have been tweaking it the last 2 weeks. I think it is perfected and we will actually start to see progress now.

Now for some of our successful moments this week…

LHFHG…

We made Egyptian collars. Here is Tadpole and Bubba painting their “collars”.

My artistic dc, Big Sis, had to get in on the fun.

She spent a lot more time and care on hers than the younger dc did.

Tadpole had to try hers on.

Big Sis working on a science experiment to figure out why things float or sink. The coin she is dropping sank. while the balloon…

floated and then she had to try and push it under water…it was a fun experiment.

Here Big Sis is doing another science experiment on what makes waves.

Big Sis decorated her cover for her Bible verses index notebook.

Big Sis’s balloon globe beside our real globe. She had to mark the continents and oceans on her balloon.

We got this 12” globe from Books a Million for $29.99 which was quite a deal. I thought I wouldn’t be able to get one after seeing the $59-$159 prices in the office stores and school supply store…then we stop in Books a Million and there they are $29.99!

We are starting to have more successes in school and we are finding our niche with it all.

Next week we will be starting on new units in all the guides…

It should be a fun week!

  1. Your doing great.I think the worst advice I got as a brand new homeschooler was someone telling me that ' once they removed their child from school and never looked back'.Me - I looked back plenty and some days with a deep longing for six hours of free childcare:-o .But you know- you get past that .If you get a chance to read this book at the library or something
