This week has been a bust. My 3 year old has been sick since Wednesday and very needy and clingy. We managed to school Tuesday and Wednesday, but fell apart on Thursday.
We had the orthodontist on Thursday and it just wrecked the whole day school-wise. Soccer has begun as well. Let’s just say that the practices are running too late at night for school nights.
Here is some of what we managed to accomplish this week-
History/Social Studies
We read the Unit 2 in Pioneers and Patriots about English Settlers. We added Jamestown to our timeline.
The kids had some note booking that was dictated to them. It is a map. I told them what to draw where to illustrate a scene from our story. They were to draw the gate to the town and the wall at the bottom as a brown rectangle. In the middle, they were to draw the cornfield. At the top, they were to draw the forest.

Science:
We learned about gliding this week. Here the girls are doing an experiment to see which falls faster-a crumpled piece of paper or a flat piece of paper.
Math:
We studied money this week with the girls. They were adding and subtracting money and making change.
Bubba was learning to estimate.

4th grade-Matthew Jackson Meets the Wall by Patricia Reilly Giff
5th grade-Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Art:
Big Sis’ finished art work with blending colors, shading, and outlining.
We are trying to finish our week tomorrow and catch up somewhat. It has been a pretty rough week with appointments, illnesses, and life interrupting school.
It seems that a lot of homeschoolers' weeks were short this week! However, it looks like you got a lot done in only a small amount of time.
