Update!

Here is a brief update .  My Mom was diagnosed with cancer in March.  We went to Georgia to be with her.  We stayed through her surgery, recovery, and beginning chemo.  My sister has been there for the chemo treatments.  Hopefully in October my Mom will finish treatments and be cancer free.

We chose Calvert 6th grade for Big Sis, HOD Preparing for Tadpole, and HOD Beyond for Bubba. 

Yes, we did Beyond last year with everyone.  However, going to GA really cut into our school time.  I decided it would be better to separate everyone this year and that Bubba would benefit from doing Beyond all the way through by himself.

We have begun Calvert with Big Sis.  So far, I am overwhelmed.  Yes, the rigor is there.  Yes, she is working solid from 9 am to 2 pm and more daily.  Yes, she takes checkpoint quizzes daily.  Do I feel she is truly learning and loving to learn? She is learning, but we need to adjust it to make her have a love of learning again..  It is middle school and we have done mostly CM style learning since coming home.  We will see how it goes after a bit more time.
